Monkey the Shih Tzu cross

I'd been looking for a small dog to photograph for some time now- then along came Monkey. A black and silver Shih Tzu Terrier mix, Monkey posed an additional challenge because of the dark coat. They often say that black dogs in shelters suffer from black dog syndrom because they are difficult to photograph and their pictures never do them justice on websites. While it is a challenge it just takes a little bit of experimentation to get the right amount of flash fill to show the beautiful coat while not washing out the details. Monkey was a great model and teacher.
