One of the things I was most excited about before going to New York was getting the chance to take long exposure night shots around the city... Unfortunately I was quickly told that tripods were not allowed to be set up basically anywhere within the city (an unfortunate by-product of 9/11). This presented a challenge but I was able to get around it by putting my camera on tables, garbage cans or even the ground and it made for some interesting vantage points.
I was extremely excited to go home to see family and friends for Christmas and to give some night time long exposures a shot downtown. Unfortunately it was so cold I only managed one trip downtown and when I did my shutter would freeze and I would have to spend 10 minutes with it in my jacket warming it up. Nevertheless i was able to get a couple shots.
