The first shot in this series was the sunset on the first night we got to Maui and we were starving so I only took a couple shots of it resting my camera on a seawall before rushing off to dinner. I thought that this spectacular sight must be a nightly occurrence however we didn't see another one like it during the duration of our trip. We did chase sunsets every night though which offered the opportunity to experiment with backlit silhouette shots of surfers and kids.

Aries' Intensity
This is the look that Aries gives when he gets the slightest inclination that I may be taking him for a run. He can sense it and then he stares at me with his unblinking intensity until I pick up his leash.

Tiger
The Calgary Zoo is home to many Siberian and Bengal tigers. When I was new to Calgary and trying to get a better look at a tiger up close, I wandered around the back of the enclosures and came face to face with a 700 lb male in his cage waiting for feeding time. There is nothing that makes you feel quite so insignificant as looking one of these giant cats in the eyes from close proximity.
